This guide provides instructions for setting up Office 365 emails on the native iOS Mail app instead of the Outlook app.
Note: Using the native app allows full email functionality but has increased risk. If your device is lost or you leave the company, the entire device may be wiped remotely, rather than just the Outlook app.

Preparation
- Remove any old work email accounts from your device.
- Enroll your device in Intune MDM before proceeding.

Steps to Set Up the iOS Mail App
Step 1: Add Account
- On your iOS device, navigate to:
- Settings > Passwords & Accounts > Add Account.
- Select Microsoft Exchange from the account options.
Step 2: Enter Email Details
- Enter your Office 365 email address and a description (e.g., Exchange).
- Tap Next.
Step 3: Sign In
- When prompted, tap Sign In.
- You will be redirected to the Office 365 login page:
- Enter your Azure AD/Office 365 password.
Note: If your device is not enrolled in Intune MDM, you will be prompted to set it up. Follow the Intune MDM Setup for iOS and iPadOS Guide to complete the process.
Step 4: Select Data to Sync
- Choose the data you want to sync to your device, such as:
- Emails
- Contacts
- Calendars
- Reminders
- Tap Save to complete the setup.
