This guide helps users set up and use the Mimecast plugin for Office 365. The plugin allows users to:
- Release quarantined emails directly from Outlook.
- Report spam and suspicious emails.
- Block or unblock senders.

Setting Up the Plugin
Install
- For office users, the plugin will be installed automatically when you reboot your computer.
- For remote users:
- Contact ASK4 Solutions to request assistance with installation.
Configure
- Open Outlook and locate the Mimecast plugin in the top ribbon.
- Click Account Settings.
- In the window that opens:
- Select Domain Authentication and click Authenticate.
- Enter your Office 365 password when prompted (not your computer password).
- When the status changes to Active, the plugin is ready to use.
Using the Plugin
Accessing the Mimecast Ribbon
- Once configured, a Mimecast ribbon will appear in Outlook with the following core functionality:
- Release quarantined or 'on-hold' emails.
- Report spam.
- Block or unblock senders.
Releasing ‘On-Hold’ Emails
- If you receive an email flagged as ‘suspicious’ and put on hold:
- Click On Hold Messages in the Mimecast ribbon.
- In the plugin window, select the message and release it.
Reporting Spam
- To report a suspicious email as spam:
- Select the email in your inbox.
- Click Report Spam in the Mimecast ribbon.
Blocking or Unblocking Senders

To block a sender:
- Select an email from the sender.
- Click Block Senders in the Mimecast ribbon.

To unblock a sender:
- Click Managed Senders in the Mimecast ribbon.
- Remove the email address from the block list.
